The national flag is rectangular, and the ratio of length to width is 10:7. The flag is green with a yellow diamond in the middle. The white five pointed star on the blue sky globe in the middle of the diamond represents 26 states and a federal district of Brazil. The white strip reads (order and progress) in Portuguese. Green and yellow are the national colors of Brazil. Green symbolizes Brazils vast jungle, yellow symbolizes rich mineral resources and resources.
